Terms of Service

Byline Agent helps an expert publish. You paste writing samples, answer an interview, and pick sources. The app then drafts a newsletter issue, a long-form piece, social posts, and a video script in your voice. You edit them and you approve them. Nothing sends without your approval.

Social posts go to six platforms: LinkedIn, X, Threads, Bluesky, Instagram, and Facebook. For the first four, you connect the account once and the app posts what you approved. For Instagram and Facebook, the app prepares the post and opens the platform for you, and you send it yourself. Facebook has one exception: if you turn on the posting helper we run, a scheduled Facebook post can be sent for you from a browser session signed in as you. That helper is off unless you ask for it.

• An account. Most of what the app does needs an active subscription, though you get a small allowance without one: one generation and three research calls a day.
• Accurate information. Keep your name, company, and email current.
• To be 18 or older. Byline Agent is not for children.
• To keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Everything you bring and everything the app produces for you belongs to you. Your writing samples, your interview, your sources, your subscriber list, and every draft the app writes: newsletter issues, long-form pieces, social posts, video scripts, briefings, and audits. You can publish them, sell them, adapt them, or throw them away.

You keep every post we have ever delivered, including after you cancel. Export it all to a JSON file at any time from the Brand and Setup area of the Studio, under Your account.

You give us permission to store and process your material only so far as we need to in order to run the service for you. We do not use your content to train any model, and we do not publish it anywhere you did not send it.

We own the software: the app, the interface, the workflow, the quality checks, the prompts behind them, and the Byline Agent name and mark. Your subscription buys you the right to use it while you pay for it. It does not transfer any of it to you.

• Send spam.
• Mail a list that did not opt in. Every address you upload must belong to someone who agreed to hear from you.
• Impersonate another person or organization, or publish under a name that is not yours to use.
• Break the rules of a platform you publish to. LinkedIn, X, Threads, Bluesky, Instagram, and Facebook each have terms, and publishing through Byline Agent does not excuse you from them.
• Resell the service, share your account, or run it on behalf of someone else as a service of your own.
• Use the app to publish material that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes on the copyright of someone else.
• Attack the service: scrape it, reverse engineer it, or try to reach data that belongs to another account.

Byline Agent produces drafts. You decide what goes out. Nothing is sent to your list, posted to a social account, or published anywhere until you approve it, and your name is the one on the work.

That makes you responsible for what you publish: whether it is accurate, whether you had the right to say it, and whether the people receiving it asked to hear from you.

The drafting, the research summaries, and the quality checks are done by AI models. They make mistakes. A model can misread a source, invent a quotation, get a number wrong, or attribute something to the wrong person, and it will do all of that in a confident voice.

Check every fact, every quotation, every name, and every link against the original source before you publish. The claim ledger and the source list are there to make that quick. Treat them as a starting point for your own checking.

Stripe handles the payment. Your card details go straight to Stripe and Byline Agent never sees or stores a card number. Your subscription renews each month on the same date until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars and do not include any tax we are required to collect.

If we change the standard price we will email you first. Your founder rate is not affected while your subscription stays active.

Cancel at any time from the Brand and Setup area of the Studio, under Your account. You can also cancel by writing to dgardenhire@linchpinresources.com from the address on your account, so you never need a working button to stop paying us. Either way your subscription ends at the close of the billing cycle you already paid for, and you keep access until then.

You keep every post we have ever delivered. Export everything before you go, or delete your account outright. Deleting your account cancels your subscription first, so you are not charged again. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

If an account breaks the rules above, we can suspend or close it. For anything short of an emergency we will email you first and give you a chance to fix it. For active harm, such as spamming a list that did not opt in, we act first and explain afterwards.

We provide Byline Agent as it is. We do not promise that the service will be available without interruption, that a draft will be accurate, that a connected platform will keep working the way it does today, or that publishing will win you clients, subscribers, or attention.

To the extent the law allows, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

If something goes wrong and we are liable to you, our total liability for all claims taken together is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost data, or other indirect damages. Some states do not allow these limits, so if you live in one, the limits apply only as far as the law there allows.

When we change these terms we update the date at the top. If a change affects your rights or what you pay, we email the address on your account before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute that reaches a court goes to the state or federal courts serving Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, and both of us agree to that.
